Overview
The licensed PFCCS course provide a comprehensive learning experience by combining expert-developed lectures with hands-on skill stations covering topics such as: •Acute Respiratory Failure and Mechanical Ventilation •Cardiovascular Evaluation and Pediatric Shock •Fluids, Electrolytes, and Metabolic Disorders •Pediatric Neurologic Emergencies •Postoperative Management •Sedation, Analgesia, and Neuromuscular Blockade The traditional licensed course consists of in-person lectures and skill stations that deliver a comprehensive resource for those learning how to recognize critical illness and initiate care for the critically ill pediatric patient.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Prioritize assessment needs for the critically ill or injured infant and child
  2. Verbalize appropriate diagnostic tests for critically ill children
  3. Identify and verbalize understanding of the correct time to respond to significant changes in the unstable pediatric patient based on didactic presentations and simulation skills stations.
