Overview

This is a Jointly Provided symposium hosted by Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital for pediatric primary care providers, pediatric specialists, and associated health care providers to provide education on varied relevant pediatric topics.

A need exists for yearly updates of evidence-based clinical data in pediatrics. Pediatricians must be informed of clinical research, and recent advances in state-of-the-art diagnoses and therapy for common problems encountered in daily practice. This activity will be an opportunity for Pediatricians to enhance their skills and competence in patient care, medical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, and system based practice. As well as, updates on current diseases and problems facing their pediatric populations. The topics have been selected based on the educational needs determined from identified practice gaps and updates from national/society guidelines.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

•Enhance clinical competence and performance by applying knowledge on current pediatric diagnoses and treatment 
•Implementing updated pediatric guidelines
•Discuss current challenges to improve pediatric patient care
