Overview
9-1-1 systems medical directors, who serve as the direct interface with their municipal governmental leaders, the hospitals, public health authorities and the medical community at large, not only need to keep apace, but also need to remain at the forefront of the latest state-of-the-art knowledge. They need to be pro-actively aware of the latest evidence-based best practices, best expert consensus and the latest knowledge by keeping abreast with the day-to-day findings and best practices derived from fellow experts and medical leaders across the globe. Due to the absence of traditional conference settings and the rapid changes in concerning issues and challenges created by the pandemic in a very high-profile and life-threatening condition, this conference is a best practice mode of learning for those participating with few other options. This educational conference consists of interactive discussion from the jurisdictional 9-1-1 / 9-9-9 / 1-1-2 (emergency medical services) physician medical directors for the 50 - 60 largest U.S. cities (also the hardest hit areas) along with their counterparts from major cities in the EU, UK, Israel, Australia as well as key Pacific Rim cities. These are not only influential physician leaders participating in this conference, they are also the creative thinkers that are tapped by governments and professional societies alike for their experience and boot-on-the-ground intel. The audience participating in the educational reviews and discussion are some who develop and implement the 9-1-1 / 1-1-2 / 9-9-9 systems care/protocols/training for out-of-hospital emergency care and hospital destinations for a third of the US population, in the highest risk venues. This conference provides the venue to review the most up to date and forthcoming protocols, articles, and best practice. Some participants in this conference are federal government liaisons, top scientists and epidemiologists and physicians in the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), the President of Association of Academic Emergency Medicine (AAEM) and the President-Elect of the National Association of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP) as well as Executive Directors for CoAEMSP and National Registry of Paramedics, and more.

Objective(s): 1 Evaluate EMS system volume demands, operational conditions, epidemiological observations, resource shortages, personnel exposer to COVID-19 in the U.S. and globally to better prepare the providers for the effects of the pandemic. 2 Apply the latest knowledge and evidence regarding new clinical observations and proposed management strategies for COVID-19 to create best practice. 3 Interpret the latest published study data and publications and apply to EMS systems and practice. 4 Summarize the latest concerns, recommendations, initiatives and questions from ACEP, AAEM, NAEMSP, IAFC, IAFF, NAEMSO, CoAEMSP and relevant federal agencies.
